Volunteer with FREE SD
Participatory Defense is a trust-based process. Due to the sensitive and difficult matters discussed by families in the San Diego Participatory Defense group, we do not host short-term or drop-in volunteers, interns, or observers. However, San Diego Participatory Defense (FREE SD) is always looking for new, dedicated members who have professional or personal knowledge of the criminal justice system and who wish to support families.
Please do not inquire about volunteering unless you can commit to attending most Tuesday evenings for at least one year. We ask any potential new members to attend their first four weeks in a row, after which point we can determine if it is a good fit for the volunteer to continue.
